April is Parkinson’s Disease Awareness Month
April is Parkinson’s Disease Awareness Month! While Parkinson’s has many symptoms, perhaps one of the most well-known indications is uncontrollable shaking – medically referred to as tremors or dyskinesia.
One FDA-approved treatment for tremors is focused ultrasound therapy. This non-invasive, therapeutic technology works by focusing beams of ultrasonic energy to target portions of the brain that are interrupting the circuits involved with tremors while sparing healthy surrounding tissue. This ultimately means less risk, lower treatment costs, and better outcomes for patients.
